Checking out our first venue together....

2-9-13 *Edit* This IS the venue- we walked in and it screamed- "YES- This is the one!" We've decided on the drop dead gorgeous Casablanca room!

Tomorrow, after I get done rocking ZUMBA, Ryan and I are going to see if the Profile Event Center looks as good in person as it does online! The smaller room... The Diamond Room... fits exactly 250 people ( I don't think I can handle more than that!!) and the ceremony is held in the same place as the reception... too easy!! Ill for sure be telling how the appointment goes... I'm really rooting for this place, it seems to good to be true! I'm ready and armed with my copy of 'Bargain Bride' and have a very clear idea of what I'm looking for. I've been told that once I find the place.."I'll Just Know."
Wouldn't it be fantastic if the first venue we check out is THE venue??
It couln't be that easy.. could it?

If you're thinkin about being my baby, it don't matter if you're....Black Or White!

I've never been about spending a lot of money. I'd rather shop at Savers and the Unique thrift store than endure the absolute pain of looking at the price tags at Macy's, the Buckle, Coach, etc. Its hard for me to comprehend my hubby-to-be spending over $200 on a pair of jeans! and he has more than a few pairs! He is no doubt the more fashionable of the both of us, although I question his motives when he wears a mint green t-shirt with blue jeans and tan dress shoes with a grey suit coat. Just picture it... I'll give you a second....see what I'm saying?? :) Good God I love him though... he made that palette of colors look 'fabulous'!

Speaking of palettes... our wedding palette is going to be simple, modern, classy, and exciting. After discussing purple, ( he said... "please, NO Prince colors"! Does that mean I can't wear a Raspberry Beret? Or how about my coat of Pink Cashmere??!) teal (meh... its not MY favorite, but one of his), and a whole plethora of more colors, we decided on black & white. Simple.

I've always wanted to have a black & white party, so why not have one for the wedding??! I'd like everyone to wear either black or white, (yes, ladies, I encourage you to wear white!!) and if all goes to plan, it should feel like quite the exclusive affair!! I apologize in advance, but the only kids that will be present are in the wedding party. I want the guests to think of it as almost an 'album release party,' with a fun, laid-back, and chill vibe.

Here's what I'm thinking for the bridesmaids.... ALL of the above dresses are from Victoria's Secret, and NONE of them are over $80.00. I love how all the girls can pick a dress that they feel the most comfortable in, who needs to match anyway??? AND they don't have to pay an arm and a leg to be in the wedding! Win-Win Situation! Most of them come in black AND white so there is an option for every girls taste. This is just TOO easy!!

A new business opportunity...

After ZUMBA class on Saturday morning a few weeks ago, one of my regular clients asked if I would be interested in teaching elsewhere. She then gave me TONS of ideas on where and when I can hold classes for the moms in the neighborhood, because they are all REALLY interested in a fun, new way to work out. This also got me thinking... Why not market it as something else? Maybe add on to the ZUMBA name to differentiate, yet keep the known brand?
After talking to Jamie, my amazing client, we decided to look in to using her husbands "office" as our workout space. When I say office, I'm referring to the firetruck bay at the Chanhassen fire department! They will pull out the trucks for us to use their space there! So then, my mind started churning out awesome ideas for what to name it, and I finally decided.... ZUMBA ON FIRE!!!! Because its at the FIRE STATION!!! Yessssss! *fist pump* A lot of the actual firefighters, their wives, daughters, friends, brothers, sisters-in-law... you get the point, will ALL be able to join in the fun, and once the word gets out... it will spread like wild FIRE! :) I will be having class 2 times a week to start out and charge $50 a month. That works out to $6.25 a class if you make it to all 8 classes, but if you only come to one... well, you just paid $50 for that class! I'm hoping to make that an incentive as well... getting your money's worth!! The best part... it's all profit because the station isnt going to charge me to rent out the space... they are just excited to get me in there!! If it goes well, I can go to the Chaska, Eden Prairie, Edina, and so on and so on...fire stations and see if they would like to try out the same program!
My amazing husband-to-be made this for me while I was at work today! AWESOME!!!
I'm extremely excited and hope this will be a great way to earn the extra cash for the wedding. Positive vibes and a good attitude can make dreams come true!!
